now, she mourns the loss

of her blue eyed husband

who spent thirty years behind bars

locked into isolation.

dead pulse

death row inmate

now she clutches her wedding photo

tight to her pounding chest

her eyes are broken water faucets,

bleeding out heartbreak.

he smiles at the camera of fate

the whips of his hair

shades of grey and white

curl to one side of his forehead

his name is known by

news headlines and articles

that spam the internet like a wild fire.
